How does a standard parcel delivery work?

A parcel is delivered to you or another member of your household. You sign for acceptance on the hand scanner of the driver.

GLS drivers delivers parcel when it's snowing

What if no one's present for the delivery?

GLS asks a neighbour if they can accept the parcel for you. If it's not possible, GLS will take the parcel back to the depot.

Second time around

For professional customers: GLS will try to deliver your parcel to you a second time if no one was home on the first attempt.

For destination customers: If you are not at home, we will try to deliver your parcel to your neighbours. If this is not possible, we will deliver it to the nearest Parcel Shop in the driver's sector. Is there no available Parcel Shop? Then your parcel will go back with the driver and we will await your instruction.

Delivery and transport times

GLS delivers on working days. The delivery time of 24h is not guaranteed though, as traffic holdups can lead to delays.
