When a hobby project becomes a multi-million business
Some people choose to have card nights or play football to keep friends. At Bareen, the founders chose to start a business to have a good excuse to keep seeing each other.
And since they had a clear and simple idea, they had a good foundation to build on: they wanted to develop t-shirts that fit well, in a classic cut and organic cotton, without large visible logos. With an initial investment of DKK 3,000 for the first 30 t-shirts, it was the start of a business adventure.
After a trip to "Løvens Hule", they got two new investors on board, and from there the hobby project really took off. Today, Bareen is a recognised fashion brand and sports community that focuses on creating versatile and functional designs - from everyday essentials to athleisure wear - at an affordable price without compromising on quality, comfort or style.

”Bare en” or Bareen
The company's name is as simple as the idea behind it. ‘When we went out on the town and talked about what to wear, it was always something like ‘just a t-shirt’, so the name kind of came naturally. When we expanded the range, we took the space out of the name. Then you could also pronounce it in English,’ says Mathias, CEO & Co-Founder of Bareen.
Quality and delivery are important factors
For Mathias and Anthon, quality and delivery are the most important prerequisites for a great brand and a successful webshop. They take care of the product quality themselves, but they have had to let others handle delivery. And here it's important to have a partner they can trust.
