Domestic parcels are usually delivered the next business day

Parcels in Slovenia usually arrive at their destination the next business day after collection. In Europe, standard delivery times for neighbouring countries are 24 to 48 hours. For more distant European countries, delivery takes between 72 and 120 hours. GLS delivers parcels from Monday to Friday, usually in the morning (08:00 - 14:00). If you are expecting a parcel from abroad, check with international tracking.

The sender chooses how you are contacted

It is the parcel sender who decides whether you will receive a message by e-mail or by SMS, or whether the courier will call you before delivery. If the sender does not request these services, GLS is not obliged to inform you. When the courier is at your address, s/he will ring the doorbell.

This means that the sender has created a parcel label, but GLS has not yet received the shipment. The parcel is not yet in the delivery process, so the delivery date has not been determined. For additional information about the shipment, please contact the sender.

This status means that your parcel is with the courier and is expected to be delivered on the same day. We recommend that you remain reachable via the contact details provided when placing your order.

The delivery date may change:

  • if the sender has not yet handed the parcel over to GLS,
  • due to a delivery modification,
  • due to parcel redirection,
  • due to exceptional logistical circumstances.
We recommend tracking your shipment in the GLS App .

If delivery management is available for your shipment, you can:

  • choose a different delivery address,
  • select a different delivery date,
  • redirect your parcel to a GLS Parcel Locker,
  • redirect your parcel to a GLS Parcel Shop.

The sender is responsible for packing the goods correctly.

If you notice external damage on the parcel, such as a hole in the box, you can refuse to accept it or you can check the contents with the courier. The courier will record this in the damage record and you will confirm it.

Contact the sender

If you accept a parcel that looks to be undamaged but you later discover when you open it that the contents are damaged, please report it to the sender. GLS cannot and should check the contents of accepted parcels. The confidentiality of delivered parcels also applies to GLS.

Your parcel will wait for you in the Parcel Locker for three days. The period starts the day after the parcel is delivered to the Parcel Locker.

The "a)" case is only valid for email registration. It does not apply to registration via Facebook, Google, or Apple accounts.

a. If there are 10 unsuccessful login attempts, the system will lock the account for 1 minute. After that, you can try again, but if the login attempt fails once more, the lock will be activated again for 1 minute.

After every 10th failed attempt, the lock duration will gradually increase and can extend up to 5 hours. This is to help protect your account from unauthorized access.

If you are unable to log in after multiple attempts, we recommend using the "Reset Password" option.

b. If your account remains locked, it is possible that the original registration was done using a Facebook, Google, or Apple account. In this case, you must log in using the account associated with the respective platform.

Yes. Another person can collect the parcel if they have a valid pickup code.

Additional charges may apply when collecting a parcel at certain GLS Parcel Shops, depending on the terms of the individual Parcel Shop partner. For cash-on-delivery shipments, the collection location may also apply its own payment processing terms and conditions. We recommend checking the relevant information at the collection point before pickup.

Cash on delivery and payment

What does cash on delivery (COD) mean?

This means that you must pay the amount specified by the sender before collecting or receiving the shipment. Once the payment has been successfully completed, you can receive your parcel.

The COD amount is determined by the sender. GLS cannot change the amount without instructions from the sender.

Please contact the sender or the retailer directly. The sender is responsible for the sales conditions and the COD amount.

Delivery notifications

How does GLS notify me?

GLS can notify you via:

  • GLS App - dowload GLS app here
  • SMS messages
  • Email
  • Viber messages

The most common reasons are:

  • an incorrect phone number,
  • an incorrect email address,
  • contact details were not provided when placing the order,
  • the notification was filtered into your spam or junk folder.

Shipment issues

My parcel is damaged. What should I do?

We recommend that you:

  • take photos of the damage,
  • keep the packaging,
  • contact the sender or the online store where you purchased the item,
  • follow the sender’s claims procedure.

If you discover that items are missing after opening the parcel, please contact the sender, who can initiate the claims process.

The shipment could not be successfully delivered or collected within the specified timeframe. For re-shipment, please contact the sender directly.

Please check the GLS App, SMS messages, email, your spam/junk folder, and Viber messages. Also check whether your parcel has already been marked as ready for collection and verify whether it is being held in a Parcel Locker or at a Parcel Shop (e.g. Petrol).
